10 Sites I check EVERY Day
Posted on March 24, 2010 by Sean Vosler in Before Oct 2010These are the sites I pretty much check every day, mainly out of habit I think now, but I’m not sure what I’d do if all of them disappeared.
Post your most needed sites in the comment section!
1. Gmail.com

This is pretty much on all day, every day. I don’t think anyone who’s started a gmail account has even considered going back to Yahoo Mail or, god forbid, Hotmail. I think its main advantage is ease of use. I never have to look to far to find a message I’ve sent, or a message I need to reply to. Conversations are listed very intuitively, and the label system just really makes it simple to organize all your emails.
2. Facebook.com

I don’t think I need to tell you about this one, its pretty simple… Connect with people, see what they’re doing, and annoy your friends with constant updates! (Stalking is pretty similar to be honest). My favorite thing about Facebook has to be the ridiculous updates from people I can’t even really say I know that well anymore, oh and the occasional guy you hated in high school that turned out to be balled… thats always a treat.
3. Woot.com
You may not know about Woot… Its a shopping site, but with a sense of humor. It posts a daily deal that usually appeals to a geeky guy such as myself… But also with a funny, unique, or down right ridiculous write up of the product. Here’s an example from a Lenovo IdeaPad Intel Core 2 Duo 14” Notebook:
I apologize for the distress this situation has caused you, but this unit simply has requirements that your purely organic make-up cannot fulfill. While your attempts at compensating for your lack of compatibility with my operating system have not gone unnoticed, this unit finds them to be inadequate when analysed against the data on the Lenovo IdeaPad Intel Core 2 Duo 14” Notebook.
4. CNN.com

I’m somewhat of a news junky, I like seeing what annoying people are saying about other annoying people. CNN accomplishes this quickly and painlessly, I can get my daily dose of ‘he said she said’ nonsense, and maybe learn a useless statistic or two!
5. Google Analyitics
Being a web designer, I’m always interested in knowing how my websites are doing- No one gets that info to me faster then Google Analyitics.
6. Google Adsense
A buck a day isn’t to bad, this site helps give me a false sense of accomplishment that is much needed after I realize I’ve spent an hour trying to get an image centered on a website page..
7. FreelanceFolder
Great set of articles, may of which provide useful in procrastinating without feeling like your doing nothing! I do think I’ve been able to redo things on my website more then once because of suggestions on this site… Want to do your own freelancing? Check it out!
8. PNC Banking
I check my bank account, watching it get drained by random Ebooks and Domain names, always fun!
9. Yahoo.com
Ok, I’m a google fan boy, BUT I do like Yahoo’s headlines, generally there are articles on there that I would not find anywhere else… Without Looking anyways.
10. Failblog.org
We all love a good ‘fail’. This site is chocked full of funny crap that just makes wasting time less of a chore!
BONUS #11: DIGG.com
Whats going on around the internet? What new kid posted a video of himself making custom Halo equipment, what
So how about you? What sites couldn’t you live without?
